Welcome to “The Creamery”, an authentic quality Irish Bar & Restaurant occupying a prime position on Bunratty Fair Green in the heart of Bunratty beside the world famous castle.

The old creamery’s original steam generator and pipes provide an original centerpiece for the bar which serves the finest pint of Guinness along with bar food which is served daily from 12:00 to 8.00pm. The Creamery Restaurant, or as the locals call it “upstairs at the Creamery”, nestles under the eaves of the old building. The original uncoated walls and beams create a warm cosy atmosphere together with the fabulous old chandeliers.

The building itself has an interesting history going back to the early 19th century. In 1823 Charles Bianconi opened a stagecoach service linking Limerick, Ennis and Bunratty. There is evidence indicating that the building was used as a scheduled stop for the Bianconi coaches with the ground floor being used for the stabling of the horses. In 1927 the building became the local creamery and continued in this business until 1999 when it was converted to its present role by the Fitzpatrick Brothers, hence the name.

Stopped in The Creamery this week for a bite to eat and a drink. Had good old traditional ‘Bacon and Cabbage’ which was awesome! Following this down with a few pints of Guinness and a chat with the barstaff for the evening. Thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and tourists passing through. Highly recommend a visit to this bar which has a vast array of drinks on hand.

It’s been a family tradition to eat and relax here for over 15 years. The food is consistently great, service is excellent. Many staff members have been there for a long time. We make it a point to stop by several times each trip, and upon entering and leaving Ireland. When you arrive in Ireland and visit the Creamery first stop, it sets the bar very high for the rest of the visit.

Made a quick stop for lunch on our way to Ennis. Right from entering the premises the treatment and service we received was first class. I ordered the Open Smoked Salmon Sandwich – beautiful – my had a starter portion of the Chicken Caesar Salad and wow! what a portion! Service was excellent and value for money was excellent. You will not be disappointed.
